Helping Immigrants Gain Independence

Supporting immigrant women and families in obtaining their driver’s licenses and navigating the path to U.S. citizenship.

About the Driving License & Naturalization Program

Our Driving License & Naturalization Program focuses on two key aspects of empowerment: enabling women to obtain their driver’s license and guiding immigrant families through the process of naturalization.

We individuals pass their driver’s license test, and assist them with the citizenship application process. We are here to provide step-by-step support to ensure success.

Our program is designed to remove barriers, offer educational resources, and connect participants with the right tools to achieve their goals and integrate into the American life.

Who Can Participate in the Program

The Driving License & Naturalization Program is available to all African immigrant women and families in our community who:

  • Need assistance studying for their driver’s permit and preparing for the DMV driving test.

  • Are qualified and ready to apply for U.S. citizenship but need guidance through the application and testing process.

  • Want to gain more independence by obtaining a driver’s license or securing their naturalization status.

We welcome individuals who may feel overwhelmed by the process, those who are unfamiliar with navigating the DMV or U.S. immigration system, and anyone who wants support from start to finish.

Driving License Assistance

One of the biggest challenges facing many immigrant women is the lack of transportation independence. Without a driver’s license, daily tasks such as getting to work, taking children to school, or accessing community services can be difficult. Our Driving License Program is specifically designed to help women in our community get their driver’s license by providing guidance through each step of the process.

What We Offer:

  • Study Support for the Driver’s Permit
We offer weekly study sessions to help participants prepare for the written permit test at the DMV. Study materials, practice tests, and group study sessions are provided to ensure participants feel confident and prepared.

  • Driving Test Preparation
Once participants have passed their written test, we provide resources to help them practice for the road driving test. We help them understand the rules of the road, what to expect during the test, and offer guidance on setting up driving lessons if needed.

  • Scheduling and DMV Assistance
Our team helps participants navigate the often confusing DMV system, including scheduling appointments for both the written and driving tests. We ensure participants are ready and equipped for each step of the process.

Naturalization Assistance

The naturalization process can be complex, but it’s a crucial step for many immigrant families who want to secure their future in the United States. Best African Revelation offers support for qualified immigrants who are ready to apply for citizenship. Our program ensures that participants understand the requirements, complete the necessary paperwork, and are fully prepared for the naturalization test.

What We Offer:

  • Application Guidance
We provide hands-on assistance with completing and submitting the N-400 naturalization application, ensuring all documentation is in order and the application is filled out correctly.

  • Citizenship Test Preparation
We offer weekly classes to help participants prepare for the civics and English tests that are required for U.S. citizenship. These classes cover U.S. history, government structure, and common questions that appear on the test. Additionally, participants receive help improving their English language skills to meet the test’s requirements.

  • Connecting with Resources
Best African Revelation partners with local immigration attorneys and community organizations to connect participants with the right legal resources and immigration services. If participants need further legal assistance or advice, we help make those connections.

  • Interview Preparation
The naturalization process also includes an in-person interview. Our team conducts mock interviews to help participants feel comfortable and confident when meeting with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers.

Benefits of the Program

By participating in our Driving License & Naturalization Program, individuals can expect to:

  • Gain independence through obtaining a driver’s license, allowing for easier access to work, school, and community services.

  • Secure their future by achieving U.S. citizenship, giving them the right to vote, access government benefits, and fully participate in American life.

  • Build confidence in navigating complex systems such as the DMV and immigration offices, with the support of our trained volunteers and staff.

  • Strengthen their families by ensuring that they and their children can thrive and build stable lives in their new country.
